Selected TEC Projects
Urban Assault Training Course – West Point, NY
For this project TEC is conducting various stages of topographic survey and construction layout including nearly 4 miles of clearing limits through thick woods, layout of roadways, buildings and site obstacles. Upon completion of the project, TEC will create as-built mapping for facility records. This project also includes significant amounts of office time preparing progress reports and quality control reports.
Kathryn Gorman Park – Montebello, NY
TEC Land Surveying conducted a boundary, topographic and hydrographic survey of Kathryn Gorman Park in order to facilitate a drainage study. The park is approximately fifteen acres and includes seven ponds. TEC Land Surveying conducted all portions of the survey including ground topography, detailed mapping of drainage structures and the hydrographic portion of the survey.
AMOCO-RAINY - Con Edison Site Remediation – Long Island City, NY
TEC Land Surveying provided a boundary and topographic survey for this project prior to the cleanup of this former natural gas plant. TEC conducted on site topographic mapping in order to provide elevation certifications and volume calculations. Additionally, layout of excavation areas, as-built information and hydrographic information in the East River was completed for this project.
Village of Irvington – Station Road and Hudson View Terr.
TEC Land Surveying provided boundary topographic, and utility, survey mapping for approximately 4000 feet of roadways and streams in the Village of Irvington. Over 40 properties and numerous easements and rights of way were mapped for this survey. The completed survey is being used to design replacement culverts and drainage structures.
Madava Farms – Maple Syrup Farm – Dover and Beekman, NY
This is a multi-year project that includes boundary surveys of over 3,000 rural acres (including tracing very old boundary lines), topographic surveys, GPS control surveys, GIS data collection/processing, construction layout and as-built surveys.
Spring Road – Pougkeepsie, NY
TEC Land Surveying conducted Right-of-Way mapping and established a GPS control network for design and construction purposes. Extensive research was needed along this corridor due to deed mis-closures, overlaps and gores between properties.
Parcels Underwater in Hudson River - Dobbys Ferry, NY
TEC was contracted by the Village of Dobbs Ferry Engineer (Hahn Engineering) to conduct boundary surveys of two superfund parcels formerly underwater. The parcels had been cleaned up and were to be transferred to the Village from the State of New York. Soon into the project and prior to any field work, TEC discovered that the parcels were already owned by the Village unbeknownst to them. The State had made these grants in 1965. Documentation and existing surveys were delivered to the Village and a price for work completed is still being negotiated.
Browns Reservoir Dam - Town of Lewisboro, NY
TEC teamed with the union affiliated layout firm Empire Layout to conduct topographic and volume computations for this large and complex dam remediation project. TEC developed DTM files based on field data provided by the union firms to calculate the volumes of material needed for the project, volumes excavated on site and as-built volumes for certification. Over 25 DTM files were created, edited, merged and used for this project. TEC was chosen for this team due to our experience and ability to manage complex topographic projects with large amounts of data that is continually updated throughout the project.
Kent Avenue Ash Pit - Consolidated Edison Site Remediation – Brooklyn, NY
TEC Land Surveying provided a boundary and topographic survey for this project prior to the cleanup of this former electric plant. TEC will be providing volume calculations, construction support and a final as-built for this site.
Chelsea Farms - Wappinger, NY
TEC conducted a boundary survey of nearly 300 acres along the Hudson River in the Town of Wappinger. Extensive research had to be conducted along the Hudson River due to questions from the town concerning access to River Road which runs directly along the Railroad and Hudson. TEC was able to locate the original deed from the former owner to the railroad in 1856 and prove that an easement was reserved for highway purposes at that time, thus giving our client direct access to the road.
Stewart Air National Guard Base – New Windsor, NY
For this project TEC Land Surveying conducted topography and utility mapping for the construction of new facilities within the base. Extensive utility mapping from markouts, record plans and field observations was required for this project.
Roundhouse/Beacon Falls - Beacon, NY
TEC Land Surveying has been responsible for property surveys, topographic surveys, flood surveys and, layout of this hotel, event hall, restaurant, spa and townhouse project on this 9 acres site in downtown Beacon. Layout includes buildings, drainage, grading, curbing, walls and various other construction support services. Upon completion a complete as-built and final survey will be completed.
Mount Beacon Access Road - Beacon, NY
The Mount Beacon Access Road is used to service communication towers and the City of Beacon Water supply. The road was badly damaged by the record rains in the summer of 2011 and hurricane Irene. TEC conducted a boundary and topographic survey of the road for design and conducted construction layout for the construction company. The steep and difficult terrain on Mount Beacon created many unique challenges on this project.
Millwood Fire Department – Millwood, NY
TEC Land surveying conducted boundary and topographic surveys for the design and construction of a new fire department in Millwood, NY. Surveys were also conducted on adjoin Con Edison property and New York State DOT property for drainage and access purposes. In addition to the base survey, property descriptions, easement creation and boundary agreements have all been created. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2012.
Rhinebeck Commons - Rhinebeck, NY
TEC has conducted extensive subdivision work, stakeout, as-built location for this project as well as existing conditions mapping of areas added to the project after initial design.
Various Complex Boundary Projects
TEC Land Surveying seeks out and routinely works on complicated boundary projects of varying sizes. We take great pride in our ability to research historical documents, maps and deeds to resolve boundary problems and disputes. We have been involved in numerous dispute surveys, right of way surveys and easement surveys.
